Calculation of Non-Resident Tax
Does anyone know how non-resident tax is calculated? Ours has doubled in the last two years.

Off the top of my head, if you're a national of an EU state, it's 19% of 1.1% of the catastral value. If it's doubled, I'd guess that the catastral value has been updated, and you should also see that reflected in your IBI.

Hi as Jim says the current rate for EU nationals is 19%. Here’s info from Citizens Advice Spain:
The rate that applies to work out the tax base: with effect from 1st January 2015 providing catastral value was revised within the previous 10 years, then 1.1%, otherwise 2%.
It will tell you on your property Suma Bill when it was last revised, look for
Año Ultima Revision: there will be a year next to it showing when it was last revised.

Thank you for your quick response.
