Daft question time again.

Just bought a house in Pinar. Not in a community. We have a post box on gate but previous owner also had a post box in the old village which he kindly left a key to for us. We don't believe the postie delivers direct to our home box.

Firstly do we need to pay for this box or have we inherited it with the house.

Secondly how do we correctly quote our address using the Buzon as part of it.

Thanks.

I don't know if it's the same everywhere, but the people I know with post boxes in Correos pay an annual fee for it, and receive the renewal notice in that post box.

The only friends for whom I've got such an address have the format:

(name)

Apartado (box number) Correos

(then the address of the Correos office)

Ours is via the town hall, we signed up for it and paid for it then 3 months later they gave us a key so had no mail all that time. When we asked them to pay for renewal they said we are not taking payments just yet and have not heard anything since. We still get mail though so it is all good.

We just put our street address and the postie sorts it to the relevant buzon.

But I think it is poor form not to have told you more about it really, it could be Correos that you need to talk to or the town hall or even a community association.
