Hi,

My name is Aaron, I am 30 yrs old and am looking to relocate to Pinoso from the UK.

I have enough money to cover rent etc for the first three months. I am looking for suitable accommodation and ideally looking to start  work as soon as I arrive. I am happy to share an apartment to keep costs to a minimum. I have held a UK driving licence for over 12 years. I have a car which I am wondering whether to sell before I arrive or to drive it over and would appreciate advice in this regard.

I have work experience in customer service roles in shops, passenger service agent (Gatwick Airport) kitchen work prepping and cooking food, taxi driver, landscape gardening and am willing to learn new skills and turn my hand to most things.

I would like to be part the community of Ex-Pats who enjoy the good weather and who are enjoying a better quality of life than I am currently experiencing in the UK.

I would very much appreciate any advice that the forum community have to offer.

Thanks in advance,

Aaron

Sorry to be negative but jobs are not easy to get and can be very low paid.   A couple of sites that may have answers to some queries that you may have are:   Citizens Advice Bureau Spain for general queries and N332 for anything to do with driving in Spain.

Hi Aaron

Try joining the local Facebook page of Pinoso buying and selling, once membership is accepted, you will probably get better answers to your questions, because you will be asking the people living in the town.

Hope this is helpful.

Gareth

Hola Aaron,

Reference moving over here - DO IT!

Finding a job immediately - only time will tell , but wish you the best.

The car - my suggestion to everyone is to sell in the UK and buy here-

1) if you brought it over and THEN sold you will lose money.

2)If you decide to keep it over here, you will need to change the reg details after 6mths here (in order to be legal ) - apparently between €500 - €800!

3) Cars over here are (relatively speaking) more expensive than the UK but, equally, hold their value better

Hi Aaron

Go ASAP if that’s what you want to do

You have a lot in your favour

Youth , willing to work hard for a living ,ready to be part of a community and most importantly you are asking for advice

Drive to Spain and use the car while you are  there because public transport is not as good as other areas of Spain

If you are happy in the costa  great either sell the car in Spain at a loss or sell it the uk

If you think the costa is not you cup of tea come back in your own car and you’ll a a story to tell for the rest of life

Thanks so much, most others have been negative but it's all about adventure for me and if I don't do it I will always wonder.

Thanks again Aaron

Aaron, you have rent for 3 months hopefully money to live on aswell.  Bring your car over and use it.  If it doesn’t work out it’s been an adventurous holiday for 3 months.

Wish you all the very best. You only get one life, live it to the max!
