Hi, weeds are always a big issue here in Pinoso, I keep most of them under control with Round up or similar.

There is one particular type that is rampant and seems resistant to weedkiller, even if I cut them and spray,  and are also very difficult to pull up unless there has been lots of rain to soften the soil.

Can anybody identify the weed in the picture by its proper name, or does anyone know an effective treatment to kill them ??

The dam things are driving me mad ! Would be grateful for any advice.

Cheers

Simon

Herbicida GLIFOSATO. ( Paraquat) type. I´m no expert & believe it is now licensed to farmers. If you have a friendly type, may ask.

Or a goat! Roundup is watered-down. The licensed kills all. ( not goats!) Villas

Try agua fuerte. I cut growth and dribble a bit over, it'll fizz up. You'll easily get the dead roots out in a few days.

"Gilfasato" is that Spanish for Glyphosate ? I have tried various strengths of this but to no avail.

What is this "Clinic" does it have a proper name ?? Is this the Paraquat variety ?

Hi. "Clinic" is the trade name. (Nufarm España, S:A)

Concentrado 36 per cent. (again through licence from a farmer) At this moment in time I´m not sure if licensed or not. Believe at some stage was banned in France. 1 ltr has last me 3 years.

RayD may have "hit the nail" on the "head"......local farmer just informed me, it's selective. If it's alfalfa, its designed "not" to kill it! I am no expert, But the farmer looked at me, as though I'm "loco!" 💬🐴. Villas.
