Hi ,

I have recently moved to Monovar from England and my horse and two ponies will be coming over to join me shortly.

I have been trying to find out where I can by hay, straw, feed etc. but as yet I haven't had any luck.

Would anybody be able to give me some clues as to how I can get my hands on good quality feed? although I understand that horses in Spain are fed differently. My horses at the moment eat alfalfa and hay, along with their grazing.

Any advice would be gratefully accepted

Thanks

Steph63

Hi Steph

Horse 1 in Madrid will deliver for free if you spend over something like 50 euros,http://www.horse1.es/en

We have a livery yard near Catral, Proboably bit far for you, but there are 3 or 4 horse feed shops near by.

Hi Steph

I just found your message and hope this will still find you?

We are moving in the near future to Pinoso with our 2 horses.

It is so so difficult to find feed & hay stockists within our area let alone anywhere else?? can you help?

At the moment im stuck in the uk and relying on the internet, not knowing anyone in spain this limits me no end.

can you advise me please and I would love to know how the transition was for you and your horses.

cheers

mel

Maybe contact Sue at Easy Horse Care. Rojalas. They have 120 rescues to feed. So she must Know where to find it. Most of the rescues require good quality food as the poor things have so many problems. They have a good web site and Facebook

We have recently moved to Pinoso with 2 horses. We buy alfalfa hay from Book a Bale. They also do normal hay. Our corn feed we get from the pet shop in Pinoso, or Zoosax in Sax where we also buy straw. We have not yet found straw locally.

Unfortunately I can no longer recommend Book A Bale for hay supplies. The bales are inconsistent in size and quality, and the last delivery went moldy. They insist it was they way we stacked it, but individual stacked bales went they same way.
