Day 3: supermarket queue, & just for a mars bar- 45 minutes. It might get better.
I went for weekly groceries in a very calm supermarket on Thursday, I went back on Saturday, and landed in a hell hole.I had forgotten the only two things! toilet-paper or pasta. Oh well

Oh Ray you are such a pessimist when it comes to the UK. A country with one of the lowest infection rates in the EU. That doesn't mean they should be complacent about the Corona virus. However it was announced today that scientists in the UK have developed a test to show when a person has had a mild Corona infection and fought it off, giving them immunity and the ability to return to work in the knowledge that they have built up immunity to the virus. It has also been announced that there should be about 1 million doses of a vaccine available by the end of the year if testing goes ahead as planned.

Ray whether they are tested or not the UK still has one of the lowest death rates due to the virus which would suggest one of the lowest infection rates.

Agree, therefore, it also points towards that this prolonged virus has been around for a lot longer than first thought.

Ray, I concede that the lack of testing has distorted the contagion figures but it still does not explain the lower death rate on a projected 50,000 people infected by the virus.

Jeff58, of course you are correct, if the reporting is untrue then there is a problem. However that type of argument extends to all countries affected by the codvi19 virus. The reported figures as of this morning are: Italy confirmed cases 31,506 (of whom 2629 are medical staff) with 2503 deaths. Spain 17,147 confirmed cases with 767 deaths. UK. 2626 confirmed cases with 104 deaths. It should be noted that the chief medical officer for the UK accepts that the UK codvi19 cycle is perhaps 3 weeks behind those of other EU countries. The original point I was making was in reply to a poster who accused the UK of chaos in this fight. It would appear that on this evidence the UK is doing, for the moment, slightly better than some but there is still the opportunity to do much, much better. This is a matter of life and death and not a contest to see how high one can p.
