Well people sad to say we are going to have to put Spain on the back boiler as all the obstacles are just to much to bare! We will start the process again when all of this has calmed down and a return to some normlity is found ! So hope to share the sunshine later God bless you all and keep you safe !

So sorry to hear that Jeff....

You've obviously looked at everything required but don't give up hope. Keep looking at the requirements needed for the future and work towards that. Keep looking at the forum for up to date information.

Hi Jeff, we are so glad we made our move to Spain at the end of 2018 before all the Brexit & Co-Vid issues. We have absolutely no regrets about making the move and while Scotland is being battered by a blizzard on Thurs we will be enjoying sunshine and temperatures in the twenties this week. I wish you all the best once you do get the ball rolling and cannot recommend the life here in Spain highly enough! Rob.

Hi Jeff,

Sorry to hear this.  Brexit and Covid-19 have combined to create the 'perfect storm' that has spoiled many dreams, but you said it yourself, it's "on the back burner".  Give it a year or so and you may well be able to fulfill your dream yet.

In the meantime, keep safe.

Best wishes,

Kim

I wouldn't purchase at present,  but also look at Portugal,  they've said they won't punish British buyers so much .

Hi Jeff...am pretty much in the same boat so I share your pain! Lets hope that the jabs will prove effective enough to allow life to resume its 'normal' course...

Keep well and safe

Ahhh don’t rub it in Rob. :-) only kidding, I can’t move yet though bought a place last January 31 2020 and not been back since and it’s torture. I’m booked on a flight end of may, I need something to look forward to.

Spain isn’t punishing anyone. The UK is now a third party country , we chose to be one, so now those same rules apply to us. No one is punishing the UK , nor is it being treated any differently to any other third party country . We knew what we were getting into when we chose to leave . Or at least those who chose to remain knew of the dire consequences that losing our freedom of movement would actually mean. This is the consequences of leaving , not a punishment. Why are you persisting with the idea that spain has suddenly thought up a punishment. The rules are the same whichever EU country any one choses to live in
