In a world of growing division today marks a day of sadness in Europe when the country has turned away from our neighbours ! I am so glad to be leaving England and coming to join a community of people who see only people and not boarders  Te veo pronto Jeff

Hi Jeff,, congratulations and sincere best wishes on your proposed new life in Spain.

Without taking sides, it is true ,for lots, today will indeed be a sad one, but to keep the balance right today signifies a very happy one for equally as many people who supported Brexit

A democratic process is coming to its conclusion..... irreverent what side of the argument we’re on, while I didn’t vote leave I’m very happy to see the process wasn’t thwarted and the democratic system destroyed by left wing folk who feel aggrieved at the outcome of a democratic process, for that I am thankful. The rest I’m sure will take care of itself.

It’s good you’re leaving the UK if you believe it to be the incorrect place for you to live and call home, there is no point letting something like Brexit fester and dominate your life to such an extent that it makes you unhappy and miserable. As for me, well I’ll continue to keep a foot in both camps, be as it is the UK will continue to be somewhere I’ve chosen to call ‘home’ and Spain is somewhere I can spend time in when I choose which is something I’ve done for over 20 years.

I wonder who voted the Brexit. Never heard about the Pied Piper of Hamelin? Who hurrayed Churchill, Stalin and Hitler instead of kicking them in their a*s in time? And all in the name of defending democracy. When will they (we) ever learn from the Bible's false prophets? If we all have FAITH (in common), what do we need religions for (whose aim is to separate us) ?

A point bearing in mind is that today ,The UK does not leave Europe, it leaves The EU.

Interesting to note that the Euro Weekly newspaper survey found that 86% of brits in Spain would be celebrating tonight - me amongst them!  The rest of you can go back to where you think it is wonderful......

Celebrating the fact that they have lost billions, yes billions, in UK payments!  Celebrating the fact that they have lost 60% of their fish stocks from UK waters!   Celebrating the fact that they cannot force the UK to accept thousands of illegal immigrants: can´t impose a 3 billion extra payment because ´we are doing so well´- forgotten all of that?

I could go on but the ignorant will not listen....

Drink up!

Fellas, life will go on, the world will keep spinning and it’ll be different folks for different strokes. The UK as far as I’m concerned is the place to do business, it always has been and will be for a long long time. Sterling will gain in strength and those of us who have invested in it will prosper, will still be the folk who help keep Spain economy buoyant with the ‘British buck’, when the UK gets anywhere near the unemployment figures Spain endures, when it becomes no longer the place to invest, when we see inflation soar then we may have to reconsider..... but for 40 years + it’s done me well and nowhere else comes close. I can bet there is many EU states wishing they were as in as strong of a position.  Yes, I’d rather we stayed part of the EU, but can appreciate the reason why folk felt the need to leave... watch this space, the UK won’t be the last !...

but stand up straight there at the back, stiffen that lip and grow some backbone, there’s a job to get done.

Agreed Ray, there’s quite a few in that league alright. But to give balance to the argument there is quite a lot of very smart people, intelligent business types and individual from all walks of life to decided it’s best to leave. I gave it a lot of thought, looked at the pros and cons of each and on balance it was right for ME to remain, that will be on selfish grounds as it has gains for me to remain........ many saw it the other way and won the day.... and that my friend is the ‘democratic voice’ ...but when it’s all done and dusted we will get on with it, keep the show going and live a life that suits EACH one of us, be that in the UK, in Spain or like me a 50/50 mix.

Life is just too short buddy for getting stressed about things like this... chill and smell the coffee.
