Hello Linda, the unemployment rate in Spain as a whole at the end of 2018 was 14.45%. In Alicante province there are approximately 138,000 unemployed. Pinoso is a smallish traditional Spanish town of @ 7.000 people and the main industries are wine production, rock salt and marble. It is roughly 45 minutes from Alicante.
To live in Spain and to become legally resident, each of you, independently, would have to prove sufficient resources to not become a burden to the Spanish economy. Any of you under retirement age would need to pay up front for the first year´s private medical insurance after which you could join the Spanish health system at a cost of €60 per month.
Realistically, outside of tourist areas, being able to speak Spanish would be a necessity.
