Hi Everyone,

Can anyone please advise on the best system to set up in order to access the internet and UK television.  I have a leaflet for a firm called Nolimitnet.eu.  Does anyone use this business.  A TV dish has been left by the previous owners but I would also like to access the internet.

Thanks for your help.

Julie

Hi Julie,

Hope you are well. Before you decide who to go with, ask your President if there is Fibre Optic on your estate. Olé Telecomunications installed it on ours about 18 months ago. There are many providers of TV and Internet. The most important thing is to pick a company that will support you when things go wrong, so make sure they are local. There are a lot of providers and they are not all reliable. Ask the neighbours. They might even know who the previous owner was using, and she will have left the router and TV box there. Most providers will install whatever you want in a day or two so there is no waiting. You would be able to get it done when you are back here, and I will give you the numbers of a couple of local providers then.

Hi Sheila

Thanks for your message it's really nice to hear from you. I've booked my flight now on 31/1. I was going to come earlier but a friend is really keen to see the house. She couldn't make it earlier as her daughter will be here from Thailand.I keep thinking of the house and wishing I was there it's bright but really cold here today.

There is a TV in the house and also a dish outside but it's not digital.I also wanted to be able to access the internet. It's a good idea to speak to the President.and thanks for the information that they can install in a couple of days.I was thinking about buying a small TV whilst I'm there if their not too expensive.

Looking forward to seeing you again.

Julie

Sheila, is the fibre optic installation included in your monthly community frees?

No. When Olé put the fibre optic in the road outside, they asked residents if they wanted to change over. As a special offer they installed ours for free as we were already with them, and we just signed up for 2 years. We have very few problems and they are always willing to answer any queries. They speak English and have a shop at La Zenia.

Hi with TV / internet - It is a little different to the UK where for example you can get Sky for fibreoptic and TV.

Here it is better separated, as the larger companies are geared of course to Spanish TV.

Would start with working on who can get you the best internet - best form of recommendation is usually your nearest neighbour! Telfy is also another local fibre provider in your location, which may be worth a try, Telfy.

TV wise depends on what exactly you require - If on a community, sometimes they have community satellite free to air TV & you may just need a connection & possibly a satellite receiver to add free to air UK TV. If not the case, it may be possible if you have terrace / wall space to put your own dish up, for free to air, no subscription TV. If you want more content, catch up, on-demand IPTV / internet TV, then for this, you just need the internet connection. So a few options. www.televisiontechnology.eu well established locally should be able to assist if required.
