Car parking at Alicante train station

Hi, we're planning to take the train from Alicante to Madrid but driving to Alicante first. How easy is it to find parking at or near the train station?

I found an old post/reply but appreciate something a bit more recent?

Hi There is a car park at the train station but is expensive. We used VIP Parking which come to train station and take your car to their parking and then bring it back on the date and time you request, excellant service and not expensive. Not sure how long you plan to be away, we were away 5 days and had no problems with them at all. Enjoy Gillian

Yes, the station car park is expensive. Last time I parked there it was around €26 for the day!
