Hi

Can I ask the forum what’s the approximate monthly bill for electricity and for water for a 3 bedroom town house .

Suppliers are  Iberdrola and Hidraqua.

And Is there a standing charge regardless of the property not being occupied that month and the approximate cost of said standing charge Also is there someone who we can speak to st the utility company to query the bill

Thanks in advance

Mark

Thank you for that quick response. We have had people in doing work the last few months  on and off and I have stayed their for 9 days at a time on a few occasions. .Also  I guess it’s been the winter months so I have had electric fires on at times . I also replaced the cistern in the toilet which seemed to keep filling all the time .A possible reason for the high water bill . I will keep an eye on the bills from now on .

Lessons to be learned me thinks

Electricity costs easily double in the winter months as you try and heat the house. We tend to avoid winter as we don't like the cold house.

Cisterns fail every couple of years, both mine go at the same time. Just a case of replacing the fitting you get them from Chino shops. Even with an overfilling cistern it shouldn't sky rocket your water costs.

When I am there for a full month in the summer my water bill is only a couple of euros per mth  more. As long as you turn the water off at the main when your not there.

that’s the only place where there could be a leak . Will get someone to check or I will go out and have a look myself ASAP

Can anyone give advice about iberdrola.

We got our keys for our 3 bed property in Dec and our first bill was 34 Euro. We had been there for 3 days. Since then our property has been empty so we presumed our bill would be exactly the same each month if thevelectrics not being used. Last month it was 22 euros, this month 26euros. I know this isn’t a lot but it’s confusing us why it’s different.

Is it worth changing from iberdrola to perhaps another company?

Niki

Thanks,

I suppose it’s just getting used to a different way.

It’s all good,as long as we know what it’s all about and how it works we are absolutely fine with it all.

I’m sure it won’t take us long to get our heads round it all.

Now next on the list is figuring out who best to get internet connection with. Lol

Thanks

Niki
