Are there any ATMs in or around Playa Flamenca where I can make withdrawals using a Wise debit card without incurring a fee?

I’ve not been able to find one. People on here mention certain atm’s that’s are fee free but I’ve not found that with my Wise card. Wise is great, apart from the limit on withdrawals. I’ve always drawn £200 out either side of month end (ie 2 x £200) therefore incurring the least fees possible.

Has anyone used the Deutsche Bank ATMs in Torrevieja recently - they used to be fee free?

(Note - there was previous discussion here about the residency that Wise have on your account as impacting what fees may be applicable. (On the Wise app, if you click at the top left to bring up your details and then scroll down to Personal Details then Personal Information it shows your country of residence - if this is UK rather than say Spain I think cash machines see it as a UK card and are more likely to charge. While I'm resident in Spain, I must never have updated Wise as it still shows as UK on mine and I'm charged at say Cashzone ATMs whereas others who show as Spain residence in the Wise App are not).

The two Deutsche ATMs are:

C. Abedul, 2, 03188 Torrevieja, Alicante, Spain

Pl. Waldo Calero, 2, 03180 Torrevieja, Alicante, Spain

...possible.

Agree with you that Wise is great and particularly if you have a holiday home but I can't help thinking that Wise are missing a trick by having these ridiculously low monthly withdrawal limits, I would think that with these increased their product would be far more attractive generally.

Ken.

Hi

It was me who had the discussion with George55, and can confirm what he says.

If your Wise account is registered to a Spanish (or maybe EU) address, then try the standalone "Cashzone" ATM on the pavement outside Murphys bar, or the one in the Playa Flamenca centre, between Semana 8 and the charity shop. Or search for cashzone on Google maps.

Cheers

Steve

I have used the above bank for withdraw cash in Denia using wize and there was a fee to pay.

That’s excellent info Steve andGeorge55. I am not a resident in Spain just a holiday home. I will try changing the country of residency next time I’m over. Can you confirm there are no “side effects” to flipping the country of residence regularly?

Hi

I have no experience of flipping countries (I have no reason to) and I know George has decided not to risk it. It would be great if someone would try it and tell us the outcome!

The obvious potential sticking point is that Wise might require proof of residency.

If it works, then there are a lot of people on this forum who would be delighted!

Over to you...

Cheers

Steve

This is one of my constant checks. As at December (when I last trekked round various atm’s) the only free one with my Wise card is Kuxtabank in Torrevieja. Deutsche bank used to be free but now charge and the cash zone atm’s charge even though my Wise card is eu registered (Belgium).

Hi Harvest

To be clear, under your personal details- is your address in Belgium? I'm guessing that it is a UK address - but it is your euros account that has a Belgian IBAN?

My theory is that it is the address that matters.
