Hello Tessa
We’ve taken JIMs advice and recently sent all details via email to the following
Jim's Tip - Non-Resident tax returns for €20 inc payment
All questions were answered in English via emails. We paid 20€ each for the service plus the tax due of course. Others on this forum have also used their services.
I will update here as soon as I’ve received receipts. It’s great to have another job done.

Hope this helps

Tessa, I have also been using Angar Taxation Services in Torrevieja as recommended in Jims Guides and they are excellent. All done by email in english for 20€ per owner and they pay it and return a receipt to you for proof. Your Suma bill which has the cadastral value on which the NRT is based has to be got from Suma, which your solicitor should have arranged when purchasing property. As its 1yr in arrear maybe if purchased this year you are not responsible until next year so contact solicitor first before Suma.
Regards
Pauline.

Thanks Pete. I know some people don’t pay it as they are never asked to, but I also know that it will come back to bite them if and when they wish to sell as it will potentially cause delays in completion and fines will be backdated from the final account. I prefer to have peace of mind. Thanks for your comments.
Hi Can you point out where on the suma bill is the cadastral value please we have our first suma bill and want to pay non resident tax tia

Hello Tricia
As you look at bill, on left side it’s got your address, NIE numbers etc.
Then on right hand side catastral value on first line says
VALOR CATASTRAL 123.456.78 (for example)
Hope this helps 😊
Hi MealthMaria got it thanks so much x
Hi again Tricia, so you can calculate your amount of NRT, if you multiply your catastral value by 1% and then by 19% that will give you the figure you will owe per person. Unlike UK council tax its not a figure per property irrespective of amount of people living there its a figure per owner (similar to our old poll tax).
After Brexit the calculation may increase to 1% x 24%(not 19%) so I have read.
Regards
Pauline.
