OK.................been here before but now a slight change of plan. My otherwise fit asus has a pirated win7 installed (not what I ordered I hasten to add) and it's beginning to crawl. As win7 support is shortly to go, I would like to install win10..........and register it. Now, who are the wizards out there................?

I am no expert, but I recently "retired" a Windows 8 Laptop and bought a Windows 10 laptop. One big difference is the amount of storage needed by Windows 10.

The brand new Windows 10 laptop did an upgrade on day 2. On day 3 all I had on it was Windows 10 and MS Office, and there was over 30GB on storage used up.

So before you press the button to accept a Win10 upgrade, check your storage space.

In buying the Win10 laptop, I visited 2 "big brand" retailers in the UK. They both told me the same story .... you can walk into any shop in the UK and buy a brand new Win10 laptop (quite cheaply) with 32GB storage. The machine will fill up and fall over within a year, just from Windows updates.

Is there an I.T. enthusiast in the area who dies home visits at a reasonable price in the Playa Flamenca area please. I’m needing to get rid of DuckDuckGo go but not succeeding despite following instructions on the net. Help would be appreciated.

Hiya.

OK. First of all, what browser is your default? Google Chrome/Brave/Microsoft Edge?

ok, I just downloaded Firfox to see how it's been built. It's actually changed a bit since I used iit about 3 years ago! Seems others have had similar problems trying to remove duck duck go. Not sure where to go with this. Duck etc etc is not a virus, but a search engine that doesn't track you so it's quite safe and often preferred.

However, I use Brave. It's Google based (nor microsoft) and is similarly "untracked".

If I was in your shoes, I'd download Brave, import bookmarks and setting from FF and use that in future.

Probably not much help am I......? :)

Strange how member "charliesdad" also from your area was asking the exact same question a couple of days ago and got several replies and solutions.

Strange that.....
