Cancelled flight?

Stranded? This is not rocket science but it worked well for me and may help anyone stranded with cancelled flights. Don't only consider your original airport. Look for a flight into the UK anywhere reasonable and use car hire with drop off near where you are headed. One day cost me £150 with petrol which was cheaper than two train tickets. I hope insurance pays but too bad if not and I am home now.
