Good Evening Costa Blanca,

We will be coming over to Playa Flamenca for a week in October as we continue our search for a holiday/retirement home.

We are considering hiring a car this time and wondered if anyone can recommend (or not) any of the hire companies at the airport.

The impression I got from an older post was to avoid them all, whilst someone recommended a company called 'easy option' although not sure if they are based at the airport.

Thanks,

John & Sarah

Hi, we use a website called Do You Spain, which is like a comparison site. You can filter what you're looking for. We always hire from an on airport company, full to full tank and free cancellation. We take out an excess policy here in the UK. Perhaps we've been lucky but so far can say we've found Goldcar, Interrent, RecordGo and Firefly all fine, but I'm sure others will have different stories! The only gripe we have is you often have a very long wait at the desks to get the car but there are options for Express service at an extra cost. Always carefully check your car over, inside and out before taking it away. Take photos or a video of it and cross check the damage the hire company say is on the car with your visual check.

Hope this helps?

I totally agree with murraines.  We have been doing this for 13 years, three times a year.

Thanks for your replies, not too sure what to do after reading some reviews on trip advisor. I don't like the idea of them taking money off my credit card which appears the case if I take out my own insurance. I know they will refund it if there are no claims but it all sounds like too much hassle for my liking.

Thanks again to all who have taken the trouble to reply, it is much appreciated.

Hi guys try Flamenca cars we used them from Murcia to mojacar last year and booked from Alicante to Playa Flamenca next friday for a week. The price you decide on for which car you want is all you pay .They meet you at airport you pay before you go no extra cost for any insurances return the tank full cant recommend them enough.
