Hi everyone we’ve just had our September flights with BA cancelled both ways we were coming for a month and already had our previous flights cancelled in June 😭🙁

Still unsure whether to try for refund or hopefully book for next year.

Can anyone tell me if they have received the same email from BA

Thank you all .......a very sad Pam and husband!

Thanks Tessa we shall have to see when BA refund our flights and go from there it’s all so unpredictable and somehow think this is going to be for sometime 😢

Hi Tessa have now rebooked with Ryanair and so many thanks for the much needed the positive approach of returning to our favourite country

It’s certainly not getting any better and much as I loathe Mr O’Leary, he does get you there and back safely. Think you should  go if you want to, life’s too short right now to miss any  opportunity to have some fun 😎

We booked a couple of BA flights in January for travel on 3rd October from Gatwick to Alicante. A couple of weeks ago we got an EM saying flight was cancelled and they had booked us on a Heathrow Alicante flight same date and time. The other option was a voucher, no mention of a refund. Tried to contact them to pursue a refund, but kept getting a message about how busy they were and to ring back. Gave up and just accepted the new flight.

That’s exactly what happened to us originally booked for 1st June to fly from Gatwick then cancelled because of situation in Spain then had to book by phone using our evoucher for 1st September...assured it was definitely Gatwick although we knew BA were  flying from Heathrow, then received email to say that our flights from Gatwick had been cancelled but by the side was new flights surprise surprise !to fly same times from Heathrow...then yesterday cancelling all our flights, and we would receive a full refund.  What a mess decided that we will await our refund and just hope we are able to reschedule for next June, but will it be any different I somehow think not, I am normally very optimistic but just now wish we were living in Spain, then we wouldn’t have these disappointments.

Sounds like us Gatwick is better for you than Heathrow. Unfortunately from what I’ve been reading it’s very unlikely BA will operate short haul flights from Gatwick again. Competing with low cost airlines meant their margins were small and they will only run the more profitable long haul flights from there. 🙁

We have friends currently scheduled to fly out to Spain last week of September for 10 days. They're at the stage of having received an email cancelling their Gatwick to Alicante flights, and rescheduling for Heathrow to Alicante.  I'm guessing it will only be a matter of time before they tell us that their flights have been cancelled altogether.......  :o/

Kind regards,

Kim

I’d be interested to know if they get cancelled, as we would likely follow a week later.
