There are cockroaches in every area of Spain and this heat seems to make them more prevalent as they fly after certain temperatures are reached. I would say that Alicante will have as many cockroaches as every other area. Horrible things but they don't bite and you will find them in clean or dirty buildings.

Fully agree. I lived in the campo for many years & never saw ONE. I now live in town & as tebo53 says, it´s the season. They live & thrive near buildings, sewage, & shops. (where they can eat & breed). There is much information if the inquirer searches above, "search" (top r/h/s) over many years.

We have seen hardly any this year, well not whole ones.
We do find the odd legs dotted about on the porch.
We assume the geckos aren't partial to the hairy legs?
Our urb has our drains cleaned three times a year which helps.
I saturated my porch walls in the Oro Spray.
Has to be done,if you are not going to be at home for a few hours, can really get on your chest.
S95 floor cleaner from Mercadona is also very effective.
Just looking at them gives me the Heeby Gerbies.

Not sure which part of "There are cockroaches in every area of Spain" you not understanding?
There is nothing special about La Zenia, Play Flamenca, nor any other area, which would immunise them from potential infestation.
Ditto mosquitos!

As I said in my last post, Cockroaches show up in clean places as often as they do in dirty places, they don't have any preferences!
