The border in our garden is always full of weeds. We can remove them by hand the best we can everytime we come out - about every 7 to 8 weeks but they grow back really fast.

If we use weedkiller will that affect the orange tree or poison the oranges that we will eat?

Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks

Craig

Hi Craig, I cant answer the question over the weedkiller, but hopefully others will and the problem will be overcome, but if you have no luck with it an option could be to  clear the border and shovel in decorative gravel or slate chippings with a weed control plastic membrane sheeting installed over the soil, or sand base  prior to fitting in place the stones

Thanks Les.....that's certainly an option if the weedkillers going to poison the tree.

Just use salt.  It kills the weeds and, hopefully, you are immune to it.   Otherwise sodium chlorate  which is a bit more dangerous,,,,,

Hi Craig. I use weed fabric. It’s black in colour and you should be able to buy it from garden centres here. Paul
