In regards to my previous post about beaches on the Orihuela Coast not having any facilities because local authorities closing them down .It was brought to my attention by someone that replied to my earlier post that Playa Flamenca and La Zenia beaches and others in the area are Blue Flag awarded beaches . To get this award they have to have drinking water , toilet facilities and life guards none of which are being offered on these beaches . I have emailed Blue Flag International to ask for the Blue Flag Status to be rescinded from these beaches . Holiday makers make choices and come to this area because they believe they are  Blue Flag Status and are being let down . I for one will not return . And on a final note I received an email back not interested.  A lot of unhappy holiday makers here will not be back .

My understanding is that they are closed because they did not have their licences renewed. Will re-open once it’s been sorted out with local authority. Of course it could take some time as it’s Spain - manana!

We've removed the post now, I think it may have been a misunderstanding and the poster may have misread the original post
