Hi we have moved address and I need to change address on car registration. Has anyone done this. I have tried on DGT website but it won't work. Where we bought car has offered to do in but it will cost 60 admin charge.  Suma could tell me there's no outstanding fines on car but just in case there was one which has gone to old address. Thanks

If you install the MiDGT app. you can do it there. You will need digital certificate though

Hi I don't have digital cert

I have just ring town hall in Pilar and apparently I can do it there without appointment plus we can renew our padron also without appointment. Atm the appointments for padron renewal are months away in Playa Flamenca.  Thank you for your reply

I did this a few months back.  You can go to the SUMA office and they change your address so that the car becomes 'registered' to the new one.  No charge.

You will then need to get the address changed on your driving licence.  This is done elsewhere and for us, we had to go to Denia.  You won't be issued a new licence but if stopped by the police, their records will show your new address.  There is cost for that.  For us it was €80 each.

Town Hall will change your padron.  You will need to take the Deeds of the new property, your passport and TIE Card.  Ours was in Pedreguer.  We were able to walk in and get it done there and then.

You will then need to notify all agencies with whom you have direct debits with.  Main utilities should have been done through your Solicitor when you purchased.

There was a bit of running around and a little bit of expense but over all, the process was fairly straight forward.
