It has, many times recently 😄😄. No worries. An Antigen test is acceptable. Generally around €40. You might try IMED hospitals (I had mine there a few weeks ago) if there’s one close by. Failing that, I’d give any private hospital or clinic a ring, or Google for the website; many are in English or again, use Google translate

I’m sure that I’ve also heard that certain pharmacies also undertake testing. I’m sure your friend will easily get sorted 🤪🥂

I had my test on Wednesday, ready to fly Saturday as I wasn’t sure of the turnaround What I will say is I had my results within 10 minutes; emailed

Could I suggest you check when contacting clinic/ hospital/ pharmacy what their turnaround is, prior to booking. I say this as I’ve heard it’s taken longer in some cases 🤪🥂

Thanks Ange. No wonder there’s so much confusion over these tests. I’ve been told today the antigen test has to be on the flight day as they only cover for a matter of hours!!!

Test providers and type of test

You will need to find a test provider. You must make sure that the test provider can meet the standards for pre-departure testing.

The test must meet performance standards of ≥97% specificity, ≥80% sensitivity at viral loads above 100,000 copies/ml.

This could include tests such as:

• a nucleic acid test, including a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test or derivative technologies, including loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) tests
• an antigen test, such as a test from a lateral flow device

A quick update for anyone travelling back to uk

The antigen test was taken at IMED (thanks Ange)Torrevieja 2 days before flight (still unsure why Quiron hospital advised it be taken on day of travel??) also for the record the pharmacy on la zenia roundabout does the tests too

Wasn’t actually me going back to U.K. I’m happy to say so still in Spain enjoying the warmer weather😎

Nice of you to say though and yes my friend arranged the day 2 & 8 tests required to travel at a cost of £210!!! Why it needs to be that expensive I don’t know but.....
