Hi we are looking to paint the exterior of our small quad bungalow, we don't have the money to pay anyone so we are going to do it ourselves, it is Chino on the exterior and has never been painted before. I am trying to find paint that will repell the most of the dirty rain, wheather it be some acrylic I need to add to the paint or there is a paint I can buy that will do this, also do I need to prime it. It is a dirty white at the moment and we want to paint it a pale stone / sand colour. Any advise really appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You  might  need  to consult  President  of Community  to  get  Paint  colour  and  Code  number  and  where it  can  be  purchase,   you  can get  a liquid  you  Spray  on wall  first  that  should  remove  any  dirty or mold,

Do  not Power wash  walls as it will do  more harm  than  good

Pop into your nearest paint store and they will advise on the type of paint and the volume required.  Most of the exterior wall paints contain acrylic.

Firstly if you are on a community you will have regulations as to the colours you can paint your exterior. As previously advised  your president or administrator will supply the paint codes.

If not on a community, you say you are in a quad  - so you will require the permission of the other 3 owners.

Finally to change the colour of your exterior you will need to obtain a licence from the ayuntamiento.

It is an Urb but there are no restrictions of colour, I want it more or less the colour it is now, I have jet washed it but it is still grim, the neighbours are not a problem, it's just one of the other quads near me was painted last year in a pale cream and there are streaks of brown from the sandy rain, his paint was exterior paint with Acrylic, I am looking for something to mix in the paint to stop the sand sticking or to make it easy to clean. If I can post a picture I will do it. Thanks.

As you can see there is not a lot to paint, the solarium doesn't need doing as it was retired and Chinoed a couple of years back, I just want to paint it around the dame colour but with some primer if needed and a either some protection to put in the pain or a a top coat to seal it.

ROCAMAR paint shop on the Avenue de Valencisnas. Excellent. Speak with Assistant, show him your photos and seek advice   Also ( don’t laugh) ask for DESQUENTO!  Discount. I always ask and get it.  I bought white exterior paint from them and there wasn’t a sign of orange dirt on it when we were staying recently.

GREATEST PAINT SHOP. GOOD LUCK.

Do you not advise power washing walls before painting, why so?
