Hi everyone hope your all keeping well.

Myself and my partner had a trip booked to come and look at the different areas in the Costa Blanca south prior to the start of Covid19 and are now hoping this can be rearranged in the near future.  We realise that time is running out before the end of the Brexit transition and because we want to become residents time is in short supply therefore I am looking for some genuine advice on the areas we are thinking of they are Playa Flamenca, Torreviejca and Villa Martin and any other suitable areas in these areas. What we are wanting is a big ex-pat community as at present neither of us speak spanish, we are both in our 60s so people of simialr age is also essential, we need to be near amenities like bars, restaurants, health care, supermarkets and if possible not to far from the beach we are not intending driving so public transport is essential.  My partner is a golf fanatic and like shopping and stopping for coffee and cake we wont to have a lively area through the winter where we can still enjoy a lively social life.  We dont want to live on a golf resort  but need to be in reasonable distance to one ie taxi.

Hoping to get some personal feedback on the  areas to limit our seach due to time restraints.

Would also appreciate some idea on suitable reasonably priced Spainish/British speaking lawyers details that I could contact to arrange an appointment with.Thankyou in advance for any helpful information

I have looked at Jims blog which is full of helpful information and find this very very useful but would also like personal recommendations on areas and lawyers

Trish

Torrevieja is the closest fit to your requirements.

You can get everywhere by public transport (hospitals, beach, shops, legal stuff, airport, etc.).

A golf course will be a taxi ride away.

Loads of Brit ex-pats.

Hi, just read your question and it could have been me writing it. We moved to la marquesa last February but soon found you need a car to live here although its lovely but after a lot of research we  are moving to Cabo Roig on Wednesday as its very flat and 15minutes walk to the beach, 20 to La zenia boulevard and there's a bus service to Torrevieja but I think any of the areas around there would suit you as everyone I've spoken to says its a great place if you don't have a car, good luck whichever area you decide on

Playa Flamenca is definitely a great central area to be based with lots going on within walking distance as already advised.

A good number of commercial centres dotted around with restaurants and bars etc, and lots of ex-pats of various nationalities.

With the fabulous hospital close by, my parents re-located to Playa Flamenca from Mallorca and loved it.

My husband and I have bought in Los Altos but are still able to walk to all our favourites in Playa Flamenca.

Good luck x

Hi Trish

Our requirements were very similar to yours the only difference was that we were only looking for a holiday home

We looked at areas from Torrevieja right down to Los Alcazarez before eventually deciding on Punta Prima.we chose it for the following reasons

Our apartment is in a quiet area, rarely hear voices or traffic. Its a 15 min walk to the sea and 5 minutes from the nearest supermarket and a great choice of restaurants and bars. Playa Flamenca is about 1.5km and The Boulevard about 2.5km and both are a nice walk with pit stops on the way ! Equally you can catch a bus or a taxi if you prefer. Torrevieja is about 6km away.

Its all quite flat and you wont need Soanish as a lot of expats live in the area

After we decided on Punta Prima we knew when we saw the apartment that it was thebone for us and lm sure that when you look at the areas you will know which one you prefer

Good luck in your search

Cheryl
