Hi can anyone help please. We have purchased an Intex 4 people spa and are having trouble keeping the water clear, we have a bromine tablet bobbing around in the float thing and run the pump 2 x 3 hours a day, so 6 hours in total, we have cleaned the filter. I would just like to know in Laymans terms what to do. We have tried the water clarifier that didnt work, it has only been used around 6 times in a round 6 weeks because we can't get the water clear. Thanks in advance for any help.

Have you bought any water testing strips? You can get them from Amazon. It could be you don't have enough chlorine but the testing strips will tell you. Sun tan lotion also can cloud the water, always shower before you get in - 3 hours a day for water circulation is perhaps not enough either. I add chlorine granules rather than use a float with tablets in it. Mine is is the UK though :)

If you are confident the filter is clean and there is enough chlorine in the tub leave the filter pump on for 24 hours and check. Or clean/ replace the filter and run for 24 hours and then check. Not much more I can advise as I've only ever had an issue with sun creams and cloudiness caused by a lack of chlorine. I also use a wet and dry vacuum to suck out any dirt which can sometimes collect at the bottom which can come to life like a snow globe when you have the air jets on. Good luck :)

I've got one of these so it's not exactly like for like but similar enough

Thank you I will try this, failing that I will empty and start again. It is all trial and error. We have paid out €550 for the tub and want to get it right. Can I ask how often you empty it what products you use and where you buy them from, I have been told all sorts and it gets expensive to buy them all. Thank you.

This is the product I mostly use, I haven't bought this particular one but they are fairly generic. These will last absolutely ages.

Initially I bought one of these starter kits which also has a foam remover - the foam remover can be useful if you use the tub a lot.

I normally change the water once a year though I did change it twice one year because the water had clouded due to us having too much sun creme on and or excessive use. That said the summer hasn't been that good weather wise in the UK this year so we haven't been in it that much. That damn jet stream :)

One of these allows removal of insects/ leaves unless really small - what sinks to the bottom gets vacuumed out with the wet and dry vacuum.

I've had my filter running continuously since last year - probably not good for it's longevity but I left it out over the last winter. It only really gets expensive when continually heating.

I've not really bothered cleaning my filters which are more expensive at around £12 a pop but they last for months.

Sorry that my product links are in the UK but as we haven't sold our house yet it is where we are, lol.
