We now have the right to vote in next weeks's elections. Is there any information available written in English, that will tell us what each party stands for? This is for the Orihuela Costa and also for the EU. Costa Blanca News appears to only interview candidates in Torrevieja. Thanks

I'd just do a bit of Googling if you've not had any mailshots from the various parties. For example:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_political_parties_in_Spain

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Politics_of_Spain#Political_parties

http://progressivespain.com/politifile-a-guide-to-spains-political-parties/

I was talking to a Spanish friend of ours this afternoon, and he said he wan't going to bother voting as, whoever gets into power, they all end up being corrupt.

We'll vote on the 26th, but still aren't sure who to vote for. It would be nice if other forum members would express their opinions.

We've already returned our postal votes for the UK elections to the EU, and for the first time in our lives we've voted Lib-Dem as they seem to be against Brexit.

Thanks Jim, I'll certainly look at those links. Like you, I would like to read any opinions from other forum members. It's good to get different points of view before deciding.

Hi Ray,

Obviously your town hall is better than ours! There is nothing on their website. Having googled though I am interested in C.L.A.R.O., as they have formed a coalition with Podemos and Cambiemos and appear to fight for local issues. So that's the local election sorted, now I need to decide who to vote for in the EU! As Jim said, most Spaniards say that they are all corrupt anyway, but what's new! 😀

I bought this weeks's Costa Blanca News and they have interviews with the 5 candidates for the Orihuela Costa. The more I read makes me more undecided. I would love to hear from others what they think of the parties previous track records.

Thank you so much Kimmy. Reading that article in The Leader was very helpful. Our council certainly needs changing and C.L.A.R.O. look like the best option. I have returned my EU postal vote to the UK, but don't think it will get there by next Thursday. My husband's voting form has not been delivered to us.
