We don't have a cinema showing any films - Spanish, English or any other language. We don't have a teatro either. There are Spanish people living here too - or didn't you realise? The state schools are Spanish, why shouldn't the children who attend them be given the same facilities as children in what you consider to be 'Spanish' towns? We, whether part-time or fulltime residents, PAY TAXES - 60% of Orihuela's income is from the coast. OC isn't just English. No one is asking for facilities for English people, it is a request for standard facilities available in almost all, even relatively small, towns to be available in OC to the residents and visitors, whatever their nationality. You seem determined to view it as a 'them and us' situation, why? What is your real objection to allocated funds being used for the purposes for which they have been allocated? You obviously don't like Orihuela Costa - your choice, and that is fine. No doubt everyone could name places they don't like and would choose not to live, but I would not deny the tax paying population of those places the right to the same facilities as anywhere else. I am glad that other towns in the area have such great facilities, all that is being asked is for the same/similar facilities to be established in Orihuela Costa, paid for with the funds already allocated for those purposes.
