I cannot understand why the ADMIN has allowed the Political rants that have recently appeared. I fail to see what help these could possibly be to the readers. They should be removed without comment. There is no 'politics'  heading or title .

I disagree.

Posts concerning political decisions regarding the law & legislation or by the government here in Spain or others abroad may have a direct influence on visitors or residents. Their opinions are therefore valid, certainly, at the moment in time, as political changes in law move day-by-day.

I totally agree with you Patrick62. I've found that this forum has pretty much been overtaken at times by unhelpful posts. I used to use it as a useful tool for information, but generally have a quick glance now and ask questions from another forum. There is such a danger on this forum of being attacked by others for some comment or question asked. Good for you for raising this point, as I was too cowardly and didn't want to becime a target for the regular nasties on this forum.

I tend to partially agree. Some "post´s" only to comment "nasties" or personal posts...ie above.

There's nothing at all wrong with political posts, and even a rant can be informative as well as entertaining. I could myself post a rant about the damage that Brexit has done to the UK economy, and to our income here in Spain.

The problem is that trolls get in on the act, as do the uniformed who probably got their opinions from the Sun newspaper etc.

Alex, our leader, has a tough job to do - how far should he allow discussions to go before stepping in and taking action? In my opinion he does a good job, and allows quite a bit of leeway before he kills a discussion.

Forum policy is:

The Costa Blanca Forum ... is a platform for communities to discuss, connect, and share in a friendly and open environment. While participating, it’s important to keep in mind this value above all others: show enough respect to others so that we all may continue to enjoy the Costa Blanca Forum for what it is.

Also bear in mind that, because of the lockdown, the various procedures haven't been able to happen, so there's been a marked drop in such posts, resulting in discussion only posts taking over much of the forum content.

Stick with it - once the lockdown is over, normal service will be resumed.

I agree Jim.  I don't even mind "personal opinion", so long as it's backed up with sources.

Unfortunately, we've had a spate of bad behaviour from a very small number of members whose sole purposes was to insult anyone who didn't agree with their opinion.  Since Alex has banned the worst offender, cordial service has resumed! 👍😃

Kind regards,

Kim

How many phase 0-3 politicians  does it take to change a lightbulb?

None. The light bulb is already showing signs of recovery.
