Hello,

We are considering changing the access to our urbanisation to make it more secure.  Our main concern is how do we get our mail, as the mailboxes are currently inside the urbanisation.  Does anyone on here live in a secure complex which has mail boxes within the community.  Any response will be gratefully received.

Thank you.

Yes. The administrators gave Correos a key and he lets himself in and puts the mail in the boxes.

Hello Yvet

We are just resolving, this issue  with the help of our administrators,  We have to replace  our communal box   for mail boxes but these will be situated  outside in an area where no key is required ( viewed & approved by Correos who preferred not to have a key!

Gardeners,  cleaners of communal areas & pool cleaner all have a key.

When I shop online (Amazon etc) I have a permanant request to phone me from the street and I go out to the couriers & mostly it works.

Cheers

All I'd say on this topic is, be careful what you wish for because the clown in charge of running our Resident's Association (Yes you, Frankie "former UKIP Councillor who took advantage of FoM to move to Spain because you're a massive hypocrite" Drake, I mean you) decided we needed to add a huge ugly gate "for security reasons" a couple of years ago & it's been a nightmare ever since.

Deliveries are now a nightmare, the lock plays up constantly (to the point where it's permanently wedged open) & it feels like you're living in a prison camp.

It's awful & it's one of the reasons we're selling up & moving.

Hi Yvet

Our community has internal mailboxes and we've not (knowingly) had any problems - but the vast majority of our mail comes electronically anyway. I assume that Correos have a key.

Receiving visitors can be a pain!

We use Amazon.es for most deliveries - and get them sent to the lockers in La Zenia Boulevard. Other deliveries are now sent to my local bar!

The whole issue is a bit swings and roundabouts!

Cheers

Steve

Our postboxes are inside the community. We have an electronic keypad on the wall outside to open the door.  Correos have the access code, so no problem. Also Hydraqua and Iberdrola must have the code, as they access without a problem. Amazon have my phone number and ring me when delivering. The only issue is that it’s not really viable to change the code from time to time, which I would like to do. We also have a key each to the lock, should the electricity fail.

What about emergency services access?  If one need to get urgent helpfrom cardiac arrest or fire you want no stopping the services!
