Given the standard of driving, particularly at roundabouts, full body armour might be best.

If you're on a roundabout you have right of way over traffic wanting to enter the roundabout.
Also, a group of cyclists are to be treated as a vehicle - if the group starts to turn across the road in front of you, you have to let them all go; you can't force your way through them.

Hi Pete.
N332 are very good, but I've sometimes doubted their interpretation of the laws. In this case, I definitely doubt what they've told you.
Rather than ploughing through the thick Pons Editorial tome I've got on driving regulations, I've had a quick look at DGT's website.
The following says quite clearly that a group of cyclists only have priority on a roundabout once the first of them has entered it:

Totally agree with what you say, Pete. Plus of course, if push came to shove, no doubt all the members of the pelotón would swear blind that their front rider was on the roundabout.
As someone fairly new to life and the law in Spain, I can only go by the United Kingdom rules of the road where the Highway Code does not apply to cyclists, or at least in their minds it doesn't.

When did you last look at the Highway Code???
Pages 59 to 82 cover rules for cyclists, as well as numerous other references to cyclists.
It's a pity that Spain doesn't have a highway code. The vast majority of people don't buy the Pons publications which explain all the relevant laws, possibly because of the cost. As a result they aren't aware of long-standing legislation, let alone the changes which seem to be made every couple of years.
Jim, I am well aware that the Highway Code contains a section relating to cyclists, however, my point was that in my experience many cyclists have it in their heads that the rules of the road do not apply to them and they believe that they can do what they want. For example, going through red traffic lights, dangerous riding including undertaking or weaving in and out through slow moving traffic, not having a light on in poor visibility and at night, not observing the rules at a pedestrian crossing, dangerous riding of cycles on "footpaths" where they treat pedestrians as fair game. I could go on but I think I have made my point.
