I'm looking to see if anyone can give advice. I've recently purchased a fully furnished flat in Playa Flamenca. It appears that the panel heater (for use in winter) doesn't work but on pointing this out to my lawyers the reply was, "why do you want a heater in summer?" The query that I have that hasn't been grasped is, is it the same in Spain as the UK ie the heating has to be in working order or the previous owners have to repair it. As an aside part of the purchase included a television. From photos taken and our arrival it is CLEARLY a different television and it is broken, but the lawyer says I've no comeback as its not part of the inventory. Can anyone with any knowledge advise me please?

I know this isn't a great answer. Not worth pursuing, without a fully documented inventory you have no come back.

Broken heater.  You would have to go after the seller. Your solicitor won't have the appetite for this. The seller could say it worked when they left.

TV. Throw it in  a skip and buy a new one.

Not worth the hassle.

If you didn't have a full inventory with both items listed specifically then you have no comeback.  It would be easy for the previous owners to say both were working when they left anyway.

Panal heaters are best just to replace if they are faulty, always best to be safe with anything electrical.  Leroy Merlin sell them for about 80 euros each.

If the property has undeclared debts on it you are the one responsible for paying them so I'm going to say a broken heater has no chance of recourse. Civil rights and justice isn't really a thing in Spain.
