Dear Nigella,

My name is Javier Pastor, I am a Spanish registered solicitor and Maria, from Costa Blanca Sales, has passed me your details to act on your behalf buying the property in Playa Flamenca, Orihuela Costa.

I suppose this is your first purchase in Spain so these are the steps we have to follow:

1. You should transfer 3.000Euros  deposit  over to our clients account so we can take the property off the market. You will find our bank account details at the bottom.

No!!!

My advice would be find your own lawyer. I would never use an agents lawyer as they may not act in your best interest.

Thanks for letting me know.

Can someone please recommend English Lawyers in Spain.  I have made an offer for a property in Playa Flamenca and now have to find a good English Lawyer.

Many thanks

We had been warned by our lawyer never to sign anything or pay anything to the selling agent.

He said,  view the properties, when you find one you like and want to proceed phone him and he'd take it from there.

The deposit contract the selling agent wanted us to sign was not in our interests and put us at risk of losing money. Our lawyer insisted on changes to that before signing and that was only the deposit contact.

He protected us all the way through and actually saved us money.

So these are not Sun Lawyers then?

Does anyone know the Telephone number of Sun Lawyers in La Zenia?

Sorry for all these questions as I am new to buying in Spain and I do know that I have to be very careful.

Hi Nigella

Yes it does appear that Javier works for Sun lawyers.

Sun have had plenty of recommendations on this forum but it also appears that they also represent your agent hence the advice to find your own.

My own Solicitor at Solmed is English speaking(Scotish) I would highly recommend them.

Craig can you recommend any Lawyers or your Lawyer that completed your purchase...
