Hi,

We have seen a property that we like the look of on kyero, should we contact the agent through kyero even though we have never heard of them (Girasol homes) or should we ask an agent that we have dealt with before to show it to us. We have looked at properties with Casas Manuel and Costa Invest so far.

Thanks,

John & Sarah

It makes no difference to you. Just means the agents have to split their commission.Obviously they would prefer you to buy one of their properties as the get the whole fee. Happy house hunting.

Thanks Tessa,

Yes, we are fully aware that agents would have to split the commission and that it wouldn't affect us. My main concern was whether these lesser known agents are legit and therefore it might be a safer option to continue to deal with who we know.

Thanks,

John & Sarah

Hi John & Sarah

I can understand your concerns as there are so many dodgy things going on in Spain. Kyero have been going for a while and I have not heard anything bad about them. If you want a very professional and efficient service then Home España would be my choice and their after purchase support was first class. Sun Lawyers work closely with them and they also looked after us well. Not the cheapest but  you get what you pay for.

Thanks for that piece of information Tessa, it's always good to have recommendations and something for us to save for future reference.

The size of the company does not mean it is more or less 'legit' than any other.  How well known the company certainly doesn't reflect on their service (doing a TV program makes you well known but doesn't mean you offer a better service!).  An estate agent represents the owner, it is their job to sell the property.  There are more honest and more helpful sales people in each company, but they are still sales people, (although one hopes that the boss deals with those who are less than honest to get a sale and sakes them!).  Use a property finder rather than an estate agent as property finders work for the buyer and can show many agents properties and will be honest about the property because finding the right property for you is how they get paid, not by selling you a property that they have on their books.  Once you are registered with an estate agent directly they will be very protective of you as 'their' client and wont want to share you so can refuse to let another agent show the property to you.

Hi Davebev1,

I get what you are saying and I wasn't meaning to say that the smaller, lesser known agents AREN'T legit, but that we perhaps felt safer dealing with the agents that we are familiar with. Maybe I didn't word it correctly.

Apologies for my ignorance but how do I go about finding a property finder?

Thanks
