...t a bit of a feel for the companies - some will reply quickly but with a sales pitch rather than actually answering your questions, other will just try and get you to make an appointment without answering anything, but one or two will communicate properly as well as suggest meeting up. Meet the ones you feel confident with using from that email and then make your choice, and stick with them regardless of who the estate agent wants you to use. You will be communicating with them by email mainly once you return to the UK so you need to know they will reply to your questions. The only reason to use a different firm would be in the unlikely event that vendor is also with that company, which, although happens in Spain, is in my opinion a conflict of interest so change to your second choice. Your lawyer must be working independently for you alone.

Everyone is so helpful on here it's amazing. I'm trying to make notes every time I read something that could be helpful to us in the future.
As you suggest we will certainly compile some questions to send to various companies and take it from there.
