Thank you all for all the responses. We have spent time in spsin in all seasons and yes July n August can be tough.  each time we are there I am a completely different person endorphins are buzzing. We made many friends in a short space of time.  We don't have that here. Staying here wi...

...ll speed up everything I know that. My hubbie is my rock wherever I am.. luckily I have a good pension at the moment which would cover   care home costs if needed. My doc etc feels we should go for it as ee won't know how long this could take  could last 10 or 20 years before developing any further abd the lifestyle would help to prolong it.  Something else could kill me first. Worst case scenario we move back. We already own our home on spain and would have proceeds from sale here for back up.  Yes it's a risk I am aware of that but as I'm only 61 and have as my hubbie says 40 happy years together already. He feels if we have 10 more good ones thsts good enough. I just fear for him and want to knkw he can get support.

Hi,

Sorry to hear about your medical condition.

My mother and father have just come back to the UK from living in Spain on the grounds they do not have the funds to back up care if needed.

They have a friend that sadly as dementia and her husband takes care of her and get a little help from a local person for little cost.

In a nutshell as long as you have a plan in place I could not think of a better place and climate to live.

My wife has been a carer in the UK for the elderly and her experience is that it could be so much better and under funded unless you have private care.

I hope this helps.

Tim.

Thank you Tim. I feel also that the better climate would be a good prescription. It might not progress still getting tested. It's mild cognitive impairment according to the hospital. Was gp who gave me early dementia diagnosis in her opinion. I have been told this week I will need testing again in probably a year or two. So bit more hopeful. I'm only 60 and a lot more living to do. Best wishes

Hi

Thats no problem.

I read a report  and also a couple of friends suggested that heat and sauna 20 mins a day helps with blood flow to the Brain.

I can not confirm this is fact but my friends are very much into health and fitness and is with researching.

Tim.

I  am  keeping  an interest in  your  message  and  some  helpful  replies,  I  agree with you  in  that the  good climate  will help  your condition, I  am neither  a  medical expert or  medical  helper,

I  speak from  my  own  experience  but not a  serious medical issues  as your own,  but my humour  and  my  medical issues  improve  when in Spain,  as  have medical  checks  up prior  to setting  off on vacation  and had similar  private  health  check  up in Torrevica  Imed center  for personal  reasons  but  result  showed an improvement,  now in Damp cold South East of Ireland,  Chest infection  has returned,

So  hopefully  some warmer  climate  await  me in  Punta Prima  in 13 days time

Stay safe  and  be happy 😊  be positive  but  your are a very positive  person
