Hello

Liam due to fly out on Wednesday from Manchester, I have heard today that the Spanish Prime Minister has said no travel unless necessary, I have a home in Playa Flamenca, can anyone please tell me what is going on, as on the Foreign Office website it is not saying not to travel to Alicante/Valencia.

All bars and restaurants closing down from midnight tonight, shops also now closing. Advice is to stay at home with further announcements due later tonight. Every chance non essential travel could be stopped.

Thank you Cheryl for replying, cheeky Ryanair say they know nothing about it.

Currently the advice is for the north of the country and those in Orihela Costa sre seeing no signs. It is likely the south is behind the curve and will get its share sometime in the comming days or weeks. By that time the UK will also have seen a steep increase - eventually I think governments in Europe will concede that the chances of catching it will be very similar wherever you go. The south has an advantage that by the summer the temperarure will (may) help slow it down - also more people out of doors and not too closely packed will help to some extent.

If anything changes between now and the end of March I think it more likely to be for worse than the better.

Peak in UK will be 1- to 14 weeks away and Spain is probably about a week ahead of us so I think it could take some time. We will all need a break after that summner!
