Hi all, I moved to Playa Flamenca in September. I have been really busy obtaining all the paperwork and jumping through the hoops required so that I can stay here.  I’m on my own and retired early but I was fine while the weather was good but today I got to think what I want to achieve and what I might need help with. I want to learn Spanish: I have been doing Duolingo but need to be able to take part in conversations. I want to make more friends as so far, they are all couples. Also I want to visit more places when we are allowed to. If you can help with a few suggestions it will be appreciated.

Two things which have worked for me but don't know if available in your area.

1. U3A, which is an ex pat organisation with branches all around Spain, they organise classes in all sorts of subjects, social events, sports and pastimes, trips, etc.

2. Free Spanish classes for beginners and improvers provided by your local council (ayuntimento).

U3A Torrevieja.....Have a look at their website. Not much running at present due to covid but there are some things.

Don’t think they are open at the moment but there are 2 coach firms running inexpensive local trips, Dave’s and Rosa coaches .

If you like walking, check out Torrevieja walking group on Meetup. Walks in various places depending on ability and lots of like minded people both single and couples. Great for spending a few hours talking to others and getting some exercise:
