Hi we are in playa flemenca just about a year now. Having looked at many areas. We picked playa flamenca. Best decision we ever made. Plenty of shops, supermarkets and restaurants. But it does not have the same crowds of tourists. In our opinion it is mainly made up retired or middle aged people. Lots of nice walks, street Market every Saturday. Short walk to le zenia boulevard. We bought in El Rincon. Would highly recommend plays flemenca. Best of luck.

Hi Nigel,

We are a 60 plus Irish couple who did exactly as you are thinking of doing . We began renting in Playa Flamenca three years ago and have just last month purchased the apartment . Playa Flamenca is a great area and is busy all year round . There is a mix of nationalities and ages and we are lucky to have made many new friends . There is a civic centre close by which provides many different activities and classes . We are also close to supermarkets ,bars and restaurants . We don't use public transport that much as we drive here from Ireland  and spend usually the winter months here . I would highly recommend the area but I would also say that you are better to rent initially so you get to know an area

Thank you so much for the recommendation. Could I ask, what was the most difficult aspect of the purchase eg legal?

Nigel

Well we gave power of attorney to our oblagdo and she done the rest. Some people would say this is dicey and advise against it. But I must say its great to have somebody to do it all for u. She done our nia paid our fees. Set up our direct debit and our community fees. Had no hassle at all. From start to finish took about 5 months. If we can be of any more help just ask. Enjoy. John.

Hi Eileen, glad everything worked out for you. It does seem like a nice area. Definately going to rent for a month and view as many properties as we can. Making that first step is quute scary

Hi Nigel,

The process was probably easier than at home . We used a Spanish solicitor which helped to make things run smoothly . The sale was completed in a matter of weeks

Hello Nigel,

Other posters have given good ideas about the area you wish to purchase in.

The fact that you are renting for a month is a terrific bonus.   You should be able to get a good idea of the area.   Trust your instinct.   Costa Blanca covers a wide area.

Know that you will need air conditioners certainly in July, August.  Then heating in winter months.   Try to find best area with good public transport.

Best wishes for your search.

Maria
