Hi everyone

My husband and I are buying in Playa Flamenca and are coming over next month for 11 nights.  I would like to be around Calle Niagara or near it as its the area we are buying in .  I have got great tips from this forum for a lot of things.  Firstly if someone has a property or knows of one that we could rent that would be fantastic.  Need satelite Tv and Wifi. I know people who have properties in the Orihuela costa  and have researched everything for the past year.  We are very excited and hope to start our frequent holidays very soon.

Our solicitor will be opening our bank account when NIE comes through and looking after the transfer of utilites etc.  We will use a transfer company to pay for the property but in the meantime I would like to know which bank would be the best option for non residents.  I have read on here about extortinate fees some are charging.

Looking forward to making new friends and a new life after retirement.  Many thanks.

Hi

I can think of a few properties for short term rent in the general area, though not Calle Niagara. I'm thinking Punta Prima

Cheers

Steve

Don't open a Spanish bank account is the best option. Open a Wise.co account and tell your lawyer to set up DD's using that IBAN

Hi

I was wondering could we do that.  Wasnt sure if we could organise direct debits thru Wise.  This is all new to us.  I will request that.  Thanks a million.

Best wishes

Once the GBP account is opened make sure you then open a Euro account from within it (it is called opening a balance). This will then give you the BE IBAN you need. Don't just try to open DD's with the GB IBAN from your GBP balance.

ok, that makes life easier but also means you should be able to just set up DD's from your Irish bank account without difficulty.
