Hello LJ66

I am sure you will receive lots of helpful replies. Financially, it depends on if you intend to buy or rent. I would say that your pension goes a lot further here than in the UK. There are many single pensioners here and you don't hear many complaints. Firstly you need to have a good look around the area you want to be before making that important decision. As for meeting new friends, it is a great place for that and if you get out and about you will fit in very quickly. Of course the weather plays a big part because in the UK if the weather is lousy, a lot of people stay indoors. Even in Winter we don't have many days that are not sunny. Come for a visit, ask loads of questions on this site, and you will then get a feel for the place. I moved here with my husband in 2015 and don't regret it one bit. We were lucky because we hadn't been here before and just took a massive keep of faith! I wish you the very best of luck.

Thank you so much for your reply.  It is a huge step to take.  I did come out in Feb to take a look and have alwYs loved Spain.

I stayed in Playa Flamenca andchatted to anyone that I saw who were British and must say that  none that I spoke to would come back to the uk.

Thinking of coming out in Feb for a couple of months and to look for properties to buy.

Thank you again for your post.

Lynn

Hi, I only got my keys 3 days ago for a nice 2 bed bungalow in Los Altos (not far from Playa Flamenca). I am divorced and retired and came out in March for 4 weeks to check out areas and visit lots of properties. I kept looking online and found this property so I came out to view and that was that. I haven't had much time to find out whats on around me yet but everyone I have spoken to has been friendly and helpful.

Go for it!

Helen

I sold my house and furniture, it wasn't easy but it had to be done. Most properties here are furnished but I am looking at changing a few pieces of furniture etc. to make it home.
