MY WATER HEATER HAS BURST IN THE KITCHEN AND CAUSED ELECTRICAL DAMAGE TO  APPLIANCES, ELECTRICAL SOCKETS, WALLS ETC. THIS WILL BE SUBJECT TO AN INSURANCE CLAIM SO I WILL NEED A WRITTEN ESTIMATE.  I LIVE IN THE UK BUT MY NEIGHBOUR HAS A KEY.

Have a check of the terms and conditions of your insurance as most will not cover empty holiday home properties unless the water has all been turned off at the mains and probably your heater should have been drained. This is because a small leak could turn out to cause a lot more damage if nobody is on the scene to notice it.
If you had turned the water off at the mains then only the water in the heater would leak out but if it is still on at the mains it will just keep on coming.

Hi Sandra,

To obtain an electrician's quote, I'd recommend Tony at Sparks In Spain:

http://www.sparksinspain.es/

We've used him several times, very professional and good prices.

Kind regards,

Kim
