What do you need from the town hall? Residencia applications are processed by National police stations.

Go to Playa Flamenca Ayuntamiento early in the morning and go to the left hand side door at the back of the building and take a ticket from the dispenser and when your number is called they will give you forms and a future appointment . I think you need to take passort, and NIE.

When you get the paperwork you will need to do the following

  • Current passport and one photocopy.
  • 2 recent passport style photos with your name clearly written on the back.
  • A completed EX18 form, plus 3 photocopies of it.
  • Form 790 which is filled in and signed by your bank. ...
  • A padrón certificate that was issued less than three months ago.

I went to the Town Hall and was told to go away and make an appointment - how do I make an appointment? I've looked on-line and everything leads to a link for children's residencia. I presume I need to go to the Town hall to get the ex-18 form to fill in and take to the bank or can I download it from somewhere? The sequence of events has changed and now I haven't a clue what to do ...................

Please read all the previous posts on the subject - I'm sure Nicola has said it all.

You can download the EX-18 from:

http://extranjeros.empleo.gob.es/es/ModelosSolicitudes/Mod_solicitudes2/18-Certificado_Residencia_comunitaria.pdf

It's the Modelo 790 payment form that you'd take to the bank:

Thank you for the links -  the download form EX-18 is good but the other one isn't what I expected and may be the wrong one.. I still need to make an appointment - I'd really like some help to find out how or where I make the appointment.

I think I'd know if it is the wrong one or not!

Modelo 790 is the payment form. If you want a hard copy, go and collect one from the National Police office.

I wouldn't expect you to find an appointment facility on the town hall office. Residencias aren't done by municipal authorities. They are done by the National Police who, I understand, have an offshoot office at your town hall.

There is a 2 month delay for appointments - I'm told it's due to Brexit and people making sure??? The photograph was a new one on me - passport size. Make sure that your copy of the 'receipt' from the bank says Administracion on the bottom - I had to go back to the bank. Also if you are a pensioner you need a copy of your bank statement - English or Spanish showing your last payment and including your national insurance number - I asked why but the answer was not clear - it could be to prove you are who you say you are - they decided to also copy my Spanish bank book. Additionally if you are applying for a replacement and live in Orihuela Costa or Pilar you have to go to the Social Security office in Torrevieja - next to Centro de Salud Acequion and get a documento acreditativo del dercho a la asistencia sanitaria (nomativa internacional) - originally this was the paper that had a load of boxes on it with squiggles in them - my new one now has very little on it - I queued for over an hour - when I asked at the Guardia Civil I was a bit concerned to be told that this document may determine the level of care to be provided and that not everything is covered by the SIP card - probably if I'd asked someone else I'd have got a different answer - not sure if they are tightening up prior to Brexit. I had to get a denuncia as I am trying to replace my Residencia which got lost when I was renewing my driving licence - it was less than 3 years old and I didn't have any of these things to do then - it was relatively simple - now it's a nightmare 'cos nowhere does it say everything you need until you get there - have to say the ladies are very good and will give you a couple of days to get everything together. You can go back without another appointment providing it's before Friday - the whole week gets sent through on Friday. If you have to go back 12 till 1.30 is very quiet - think they stop the appointments.

I'm sorry I don't mean to be problematic but everything has changed and your info is out of date - the documents are still relevant but no-one at the police desk will help you without an appointment - I managed to get my appointment by going to the Municipal Office in Campoverde and then I got the list of things I needed but by the time my appointment came around (2 months - April to June) that had been changed.
