With all this migration,
Is it safe around the costa
All what migration? Have you been reading the Daily Mail again?
What an odd question!
It all depends on who one mixes with. Many, for example, immigrants call themselves "ex-pats".

Then you're a fool. If you wish to visit look it up. Those given the right to gain residency and regularise their status are not like those who come over to UK in boats and ditch their passports. Nor are they from the Middle East with a different religion. The must have id documents, a clean police record from their own country and from Spain. They must have been living or working here for the last year (5 months before December last year). It does not give them the right to work anywhere except Spain, it does not give them the right to vote in national elections and if they have not paid into the system after one year they can be made to leave. If they do, they can extend the residency to 5 years and apply for citizenship after 10 years. Last time this was done, it was shown the amount of taxes paid averaged over 4,000 euro per person.
The majority of the 609,000 announced today are from S America or the Philippines so have come over to join with families and stayed. They have cultural and language ties with the Spanish and are mainly Catholic.
About 200,000 are from China and India who already work in the restaurants and shops here but cannot get official permission or go on the tax and social security system which they can now. There are also about 40,000 from N Africa who work in agriculture.
I you are worried about getting inundated with those from the Middle East then maybe you should move from UK. It affects Spain far less.
All this is laid down in local press and Royal decrees which I might suggest you read before the Daily Mail.
