Hi Everyone,

Until Covid stopped the world, my solicitor was informing me each year what I had to pay in respect of Non resident taxes, for one reason or another the last year I paid for was 2018.

I am currently trying to establish with them how much I owe for years 2019 and 2020.

One thing I have noticed however is their fees for advising me how much to pay, the latest bill shows that I was charged an annual fee of 150 euros for their advice, this amount being nearly as much as the  taxes themselves.

I assume that all Non residents have to pay the same amount, but their fees do seem excessive to say the least.

I am just wondering what everyone else out there pays their solicitors and whether we need to engage a solicitor at all.

Thanks to anyone who knows.

Cancel your arrangement with the solicitor immediately, I pay a gestor €40 for my daughter's non resident tax but I think Spanish Tax Forms may do it for €20. The amount you pay is based on the catastral value of your property.

I paid 145 euros to solicitor, now Andy Garcia from Angar taxation doing my taxes only 40 euros........many recommend him on this forum and I used him this year. Fast , efficient and cheaper...he is in Torrevieja.

Hi Roy,

I've used this company and was very pleased with their service - they charge per property,  rather than per person, and much cheaper than a lawyer:

Kind regards,

I also use and recommend Angar Taxation Services in Torrevieja, for over 6yrs. Andy will sort out your missing payments and charges €20 per owner per year and that includes paying it on your behalf. Spanish Tax forms charge an extra €12 on top of €39 per property if you need them to pay it. Therefore Angar is the cheaper.

Hi Pauline,

Spanish Tax Forms charge £34.95 per property + £12 to submit the payment, if the owner requires that.  More importantly, it's worth noting that Angar has said that, from next year, they can no longer make payment on behalf of Non-resident owners:

Non Resident tax

There's no explanation for why Angar has said this, so it would be worth customers checking with them directly and updating this thread please.

Kind regards,

Kim

Hi Kim

Thankyou for that update, I shall contact them to find out why. I bet its another Brexit present!  I, m surprised Spanish Tax forms are able to continue as its a UK company and my recommendations for Angar are based on their good service and paying in €,s to £,s make a reasonable differrence.

Kind Regards

Pauline

Hi Roy, others have recommended Angar and they have a good following. We used our Abagado as she does good work and always has for us. Ours was 280 Euros last year but we have a huge footprint ... 4.5 acres all told.

Hope this helps ;-)

Hi DavenJules,

I contacted Angar after reading earlier reply from Kim and sure enough they are no longer offerring to pay on clients behalf although they will still calculate for same price but send a completed payment form to take to the bank oneself. They will only accept their fees by bank transfer not the actual payment. Its stated this will suit better for clients but I can see it won't for us. We stopped receiving the invoice from Suma some years ago but Angar still calculated so they must have accessed them, and now they are asking for each invoice be uploaded to them by client, need to now look into that. It appears one must pay in bank but with people having travel plans disrupted past few years this is a definite inconvenience. I will contact Spanish tax forms to see what their service offers. I am looking to pay to Tax Agency direct from our Spanish bank not in person at branch. I,m glad I have received this info so early in year, hate to think we might not have been informed until December.

If anyone can give me details on how to pay this by bank transfer I,d be grateful.

Regards

Pauline

Hi again Kim

Having spoken to Spanish Tax forms I didn't realise they charge £12 per person to pay the tax on your behalf not per property although their fee for calculation is per property. I asked why the payment could not be done online direct to tax office after calculation and was informed whilst that would make the payment the tax record would not be updated. Apparently in the bank the scanning of the payment sends info to update their records.

Every day is a school day!

Kind Regards

Pauline
