Hi everyone

We closed on property in Playa Flamenca beg Dec. Still trying to get stuff sorted with solicitors. I was asked to give 300 euro extra when closing as all fees were estimated. I asked about it and was told it was used for non residents tax. That's not due until Nov is that right. Has this happened to anyone else. I wasn't going to get the solicitor to do this for me in Nov.  Had a cheaper route in mind. They probably thought they were helping but surely I should have been asked.

Non resident tax is to be paid before the end of December in any year, but as you only purchased you property in December 2021 you will only be liable to pay non resident tax for December 2021 which should be a very small amount for both of you this year in December 2022, then in December 2023 you will pay the full year taxes for the year 2022. Yes the amount of 300 Euro is extremely high, as there are companies in torrevieja that charge as little as 20 Euro per person.

Hi thanks.  I saw that it should only be 20 each to do the tax return and I'm sure the amount is nominal but I still don't know what was paid,  I have asked a few times for final invoice,  so frustrating when you can't walk in the door and ask.
