Hi, can someone offer any help on this. I bank with Bankia and usually pay my 210 tax at the branch but I'm looking at other options as I agree with everyone else about high fees and would like to close this account. (I know I've got to go to my branch after countless email exchanges about this, otherwise appointing a Power of Attorney etc.)

Transferwise seems to be one way to go for me but I am unsure how I would then pay my 210 tax. I have seen digitial certificates mentioned but do you have to apply for these when in Spain?

Thank you for all the information on this forum, it is worth it's weight to me.

Digital certificate is one option, the other a so called "asesor fiscal" who does this usually for a small fee and w/o a POA. Look around in your area for "asesor de empresa" and pick the cheapest.

Thanks for your prompt reply. Have you any information about obtaining the digital certificate? I prepare and submit my own tax returns and just need a mechanism to pay if I close the Bankia account.

Can I check, does the "asesor fiscal" make the payment on my behalf? It may be more cost effective to use this rather than pay the annual bank fees.

Thankyou again, it is much appreciated.

Posters have previously recommended Angar for this taxation.

Appreciate that you like to prepare the taxation personally but I believe Angar charge just €20 per person, at least it gives you a payment vehicle ?

I think the contact name at Angar is Andy.

I also use Transferwise for direct debits etc and currently trying to close my Bankia account at La Zenia, being uk based makes this impossible at the moment.

Thankyou Kenbo for helping me with this information, that is definitely worth looking at and a lot cheaper than annual bank fees.

I am also looking into making the payment directly at the time when I prepare and submit the return so still researching this.

I think I will have to wait until we can travel to close the account, I'm getting nowhere fast with Bankia at La Zenia.

I'm also struggling to make a payment from my Bankia online account (not something I've had to do before) so will be sorting that today. I think I've got an old version and can't set up a transfer.

Thankyou again.

You are welcome.

Re La Zenia branch, I have had my Solicitor on the case with them as they said POA ,

The Solicitor came to the same conclusion as me, extremely unhelpful.

As I have my direct debits set up with Transferwise now, I have emptied the account of all funds, they continue to try to take the monthly charges, I haven't used the account for almost 12 months now, my Solicitor informs me that during the Bankia/Caixa merger, any unused accounts will be closed, I hope so.

Hi,

As far as I know, there is just one way to pay your non-resident tax via bank transfer from 2020 on. I've copied below the official instructions issued by the Spanish tax office (in Spanish). There are also online services that can manage the payment of your 210. I'm familiar with IberianTax but I'm sure there are many others that can help too. However, they charge a fee for giving a payment vehicle but it seems to be a more reasonable fee than a gestor may charge.

NIF (9), Modelo (3), Ejercicio (2), Anagrama (4), Periodo (2)

Hope it helps.
