I have been told that breakdown recovery on motor insurance is limited to 50km and the grua charge thereafter is very high. Also car passengers are not included in transport. Does anyone have experience of this and is it true.

Every insurer will have it's own take on the level of breakdown and recovery they offer, the service is after all an option and not compulsory.

Never heard of the restrictions you mention but find them hard to credit so if it looks like BS and sounds like BS then it's very likely to be BS!

As with all things, read it thoroughly and carefully.

There could be any number of clauses that would not be suitable for your purposes but once you need the cover and don't have it, it's too late.

It's your responsibility to ensure that you get the cover that you want, not the insurance company.

Sounds about right, thank you.
