I’m using the DGT app to try and have a replacement exchange license sent out as mines disappeared in the post again. When I try to pay I have the choice of card or straight from my bank account.

I’ve tried to use the direct from account method, it’s not allowing it as our bank account was originally set up using our passport number, as opposed to NIE/NIF that the DGT database checks against.

I’ve then tried to pay by card. The drop down menu doesn’t have Sabadell listed, I’ve even tried BBVA, it’s new owners but that doesn’t work. Does anybody know of a work around for entering a sabadell account or is it not possible.

Thanks

It is my understanding that BBVA are only in talks about the acquisition of Banco Sabadell. BBVA do not own Banco Sabadell as yet.

Did you check the drop down selection for Banco Sabadell as this is the banks official title?

Hi John

I did, I scrolled up and down dozens of times, in case I was having a moment. It’s definitely not appearing in my drop down.

Thanks

Does it have Visa or Mastercard? (Whichever your card issuer is).

Not sure why you should be having to pay for driving licences which have got lost in the post, do you have problems with other post?

Getting a box at the local post office was one of the first things I did when I arrived in Spain and never regretted it.

I would think the Banks listed are for payment directly from your account but cards would be Visa or Mastercard as previously said. I don't know if Revolut or Paypal are options in Spain but they usually appear as acceptable cards also.

Back in January I used an “agent” to sort this for me, after 10 months and a hundred excuses I still don’t have a hard copy of my license. I’ve decided to cut my losses and do it myself.

Basically if the license is lost, damaged or stolen it requires a fee. My license was originally exchanged in April as per the electronic copy on Mi DG, I’ve lost the will to live to try and argue over the payment.

I think the dreaded trip to Sabadell Bank is the way forward and get them to sort the payment.

Hi all,

No choice is given as to the type of card, only a drop down menu pre populated with the banks taking part.

Trip to the bank to sort it.

What a pain and it seems different parts of the DGT have different regs for payment. When I had to pay a traffic ticket recently on the DGT site it took Visa card.

If you download the DGT app you can see your driving licence on there. Take a screenshot on your phone for quick shows to police. Then don’t bother about a hard card.
