I am thinking of ending my love affair with both of the above.

It seems to me that almost everything I want to purchase is being sold by companies based in China/Hong Kong and the average wait for delivery is 3/4 weeks sometimes up to 6 weeks.

I don’t know about you but I shop online when I need something tomorrow, I am in future going to look on the wide web to find local suppliers who can deliver within a few/next day. Probably cost a little more but better than being out of fashion when it arrives

Amazon Prime is more or less guaranteed next day.

Non prime, and even from China/Hong Kong sellers I've had stuff in a week.

eBay UK can vary but by far the biggest delays come from purchases which come via the rubbish 'Global Shipping Programme' which not only adds to the cost but also inserts Pitney Bowes as an intermediary which more often than not that results in several days delay. I now refuse to buy from eBay sellers who use the 'service' and sometimes tell them so.

eBay.es and eBay.de (who I use quite often) are usually quick and efficient.

I also buy direct from AliExpress where again most stuff arrives within a week or so and always within the time stated when the order was placed.

I don't buy stuff which goes 'out of fashion'
